adidas reconvened with OAMC this month to expand their glowing collaborative portfolio largely made up of reimaginations of classic, heritage silhouettes and models. The revisions to existing styles come so thick and fast that the product of their partnerships come as entirely new pairs, often going against conventional trends and falling in line with OAMC’s cultivated design philosophies.
The Type O-9 comes in three colourways for FW21: “Earth” and “Natural White” have been released through adidas and select retailers while “Asphalt” is an OAMC exclusive. Drawing comparisons to Nike’s “Shox” technology, the sneaker is based on adidas’ cult-classic Microbounce, a tech-laden noughties running shoe featuring a unique sole unit. OAMC’s input appears by way of a thick polyester mesh over the toe and around the heel, as well as many details on the upper.
The OAMC x adidas Type O-9 collection launched through the OAMC webstore and select retailers on June 10 for US$350 / £250.
