One down, three to go. This season, New York proved that it’s still firmly in the game with a week jam-packed full of shows, events and parties – bringing some of the world’s most major names in fashion, art and music to the city that never sleeps to, you guessed it, not sleep. In between the rain-drenched but blockbuster return of Tommy Hilfiger and the historic Fendi / Marc baguette show, there were more than a few moments that caught our (and everyone else’s attention). Without further ado, let’s get into them.
DID IT HURT? WHEN YOU DIDN’T GET INTO HEAVEN?

One of the most hotly anticipated nights in the schedule came in the form of Marc Jacobs’ Heaven party. The brand took over a club in Brooklyn for a night of performances by Charli XCX, Pink Pantheress and Doja Cat, and drew a list of certified VIPs. If the queue was anything to go by, though, it was luck of the draw as to whether you’d make it in before they shut up shop at 3am.
NEW (GIVENCHY) STORE, WHO DIS?

Speaking of parties, and Givenchy set the fashion month tone by throwing a big old bash to celebrate their new store opening in the city. Returning to Matthew M. Williams’ hometown, everyone from Rickey Thompson to Sita Bellan made their way to the rooftop – because what’s the point of being in New York if you can’t celebrate the skyline?
NEW YORK IS PAGING MARNI

For Marni, things got bolder, brighter and downright dramatic for their show across the pond. Gracing the FROW was fashion week’s people of the moment, Doja Cat, Madonna, Kendall and Angus Cloud, who watched the spectacle of colour unfold on one of the city’s cobbled streets. Bookending what has been a huge year for the brand so far, the Marni show was undoubtedly one of the week’s highlights. Or highlighters.
DON’T EAT YOUR GREENS, WEAR THEM
Collina Strada kicked things off early in NYFW with a show that produced many a viral moment – one of which came in the form of a Broccoli clutch. Chic and healthy. Flipping a, let’s face it, unpopular vegetable into a coveted seasonal accessory just may have been a stroke of genius – at least from a virality standpoint. Who says fashion has to be unhealthy?
HE AIN’T LOST SINCE HE BEGAN, YEAH

Whilst we’re used to seeing familiar faces at fashion weeks, this week proved to be a big one for Lil Nas X. Spotted on the FROW, at parties, and most noticeably on the runway, the musician made New York his own. Closing the Coach show has prompted a flurry of TikTok analysis on the brand’s Gen Z minded revival, and his performance at Vogue World (with the Hadid sisters and Serena Williams in tow) has been one of the most viewed moments of the week.
ARE YOU WEARING THE DE- THE DEVIL WEARS PRADA FIT? YES, I AM
Life imitates art. Last night at the Michael Kors show, Anne Hathaway channelled fictional icon Andy Sachs – wearing a near imitation of an outfit from The Devil Wears Prada. Topping it all off was her seat next to Anna Wintour, the fashion mogul who the film’s arch villain Miranda Priestly is based off of. Somehow, we can’t help but think this isn’t a coincidence.
