George and Mike Heaton’s Represent has made a name for itself with its go-to essential pieces and heavy lean on graphics, like its recent Mötley Crüe collab. For FW23 though, Represent are shaking things up and “Standing on the Shoulders of Giants” with this luxurious collection.
It’s sophisticated and maximalist without losing the clean-cut, effortlessly cool aspect that has always been at the core of Represent. OG elements like the “R” logo makes its usual appearance this season on the back of jackets and on bags’ shoulder straps, while new faces like the Ancient Greek hero Bellerophon makes his entrance through graphics found on pants and jackets.
Still keeping in touch with its utilitarian approach to design, Represent’s FW23 collection gives us flannel shirts, camo pants and jersey pieces. One key takeaway this season is the play with textures and patterns, with the use of mohair, a top with a beige checked motif, and a jumper and matching scarf decorated with an italic Represent monogram.
This season, Represent stepped outside of its comfort zone in the best way possible, incorporating into its pieces a new Island Green colourway shown throughout. The collection also brings us a new shoe silhouette, the HTN. It’s a low-top sneaker with suede uppers and leather trimmings, and something Represent is known to favour, chunky laces.
FW23 is the metamorphosing season for Represent, and considering this is only drop 1 that’s now available online, we can only imagine the new luxurious heights Represent will reach. One thing’s for sure: keep the drops coming.
