Back in January, the sneaker world had its eyes on Yoon Ahn, who teased a “Chicago” iteration of her at the time unreleased Nike Dunk High collaboration. The silhouette received many modifications, most notably through the Swoosh – which extends past the heel to a sharp point – and an added heel panel adorned with AMBUSH branding. Months later here we are, witnessing the unveil of her third official Dunk High release. While the “Chicago” rendition is yet to come to light, we’re set to receive another pair similar to a classic Air Jordan 1 colourway, dubbed “Deep Royal Blue”.
AMBUSH previously collaborated with Nike to produce an Air Max 180 alongside an extensive apparel collection back in 2018/19. The 180, just like the Dunk we see in 2021, saw substantial changes from its original form, with the whole shoe sitting beneath a zip-fastened overlay. The apparel collection was celebrated upon release and garnered huge amounts of attention, particularly a mint green faux fur coat emblazoned with a large Nike Swoosh across the shoulders, and a more understated two-piece set featuring 3M reflective detailing on the seams.
The Nike x AMBUSH Dunk High “Deep Royal Blue” releases May 18, 2021 at £180.00 through Nike, select retailers have raffles open right now.
