The Nike x MMW Series 04 collection sees the sportswear giant reconvene with the Alyx founder and creative director to produce a capsule following the common philosophy of “Performances of Discipline”. The collaborative partnership is built upon the balance between cutting edge tools & technology, and the expression of the human spirit, a process Williams describes as “pioneering” and “experimental”.
To mark the collection’s launch, Nike and Slam Jam have come together to create an artistic, immersive experience which sees the Nike Training Club App make use of a broad range of performance arts and physical disciplines. Paleta – a Nike trainer, movement artist, choreographer and yoga instructor – is the focus of the video, and for the duration of the training session combines yoga with dance with an emphasis on breathing and mindfulness.
The session is backed by a sonic experience by Koo Des (aka NSDOS, a techno musician and choreography researcher from Paris), and will be available on the Nike Training Club App and the Slam Jam website from May 26 alongside a conversation between Matthew M. Williams and Kaleidoscope creative director Alessio Ascari.
