Moncler Genius and JW Anderson join forces for a second time for SS21. Titled “A Nomadic Voyage”, the new collection presents a sea-side adventure that just makes you want to sail into the horizon.
Seeing the work produced last time the two came together, a second collaboration comes as no surprise. The garments are made out of ECONYL®; a recycled nylon made from ocean and land waste, and offer a conscious take on their seaside story.
Known for his gender-bending garments, JW Anderson pushed his vision for this collection, exploring his British roots, as well as Moncler’s functional ethos. The designer offers a unisex collection that perfectly ties into both brands’ aesthetics. From Bermuda shorts and a sailing-inspired coat, to fisherman-inspired yellow bags and rubber boots, the collection screams seaside escape. Both brands’ logos can be seen stacked on top of each other on the colour-blocked hoodies and sweatshirts.
Moncler Genius was created in 2018 by CEO Remi Ruffini as a way to bring together new designers. Its motto, “One House, Different Voices”, invites designers to interpret Moncler’s core values in their own way. Previous artists Moncler Genius has worked with include Simone Rocha, RIMOWA, Richard Quinn and many more.
