Luxury powerhouse Moncler looks set to drop one of the cosiest collections we have seen so far. The capsule, dubbed ‘2 MONCLER 1952 MAN’, features a wide range of vibrant puffer jackets and gilets. These are complimented by the inclusion of some fascinating headwear and accessories. The former head of menswear at Fendi, Sergio Zambon, has taken the reigns as Moncler for the ‘MONCLER 1952 MAN’ collections. You can already see the impact the technical wizard has made. I take a look at some of my favourite pieces from the Italian designer’s latest body of work as we gear up for the looming winter months.

PUFFER JACKETS
A staple in their catalogue, puffer jackets has long been a favourite of Moncler’s die-hard fan base. Using premium materials throughout, you won’t find a warmer jacket this winter. Using a colour palette unmatched by anything else we’ve seen, ochre yellow and rich green hues are amongst the most eye-catching designs. Not vibrant enough for you? A cartoon print covers the Kunitachi jacket in a truly unique creation.

Of course, if you are looking for a simple yet sophisticated Moncler puffer, traditional black and blue versions are also available.

GILETS
Gilets look set to have a massive part to play in everybody’s winter wardrobe this year. Fortunately, Zambon has each and every one of us covered with the offerings in this 1952 collection. The Sumida gilet grants you the opportunity to think about sustainability when shopping. It is crafted from recycled nylon laqué. A sleek black version is available, but once again, that gleaming green interpretation is what turned my head.

If you are looking for something a little more abstract, the Kiyose gilet combines nylon and cotton. This creates a fascinating layered look. The mixture of earth tones sets this gilet apart from many others and is guaranteed to demand attention from fellow streetwear enthusiasts.

HEADWEAR
I have always been somebody that appreciates headwear. I find it extremely exciting when a brand takes the concept of headwear in a creative direction. Sure, everybody can switch up colourways for caps and beanies. However, how can you capture the imagination of consumers looking for more?

Sergio Zambon and the team behind him have managed just that with their hybrid take on a bucket hat. Zambon has said that he drew clear inspiration from Tokyo. You most definitely get that vibe from the wide brim hat. You will find the hat covered in a plush teddy fabric, offering both style and warmth. Additional ear warmers ensure you will never feel the cold again, whilst a drawstring makes transitioning the hat off and on as smooth as possible.

Unfortunately, the teddy hat is currently out of stock. I, for one, have everything crossed that it will come back in stock some time soon.

This MONCLER GENIUS collection from Zambon focuses on comfort and style, focussing on the spirit of the iconic Japanese city. The consistent pops of vibrant hues paired with a sleek, naturally genderless design makes the MONCLER 1952 MAN a must-have for any style-conscious folks.
