Key looks from Missoni’s striped FW24 show

Since moving to Missoni in March 2022, with previous experience at Burberry and Givenchy under his belt, Creative Director Filippo Grazioli has directed the brand down a cleaner, sharper, and more minimal route. Last season, SS24 presented a pastel kaleidoscope of sheer looks, using ruffles, knots, and draping to add texture.

Whilst Fall/Winter 2024 featured the same examples of the House’s iconic cues, from slinky silhouettes to bold stripes and patterns, it was also darker, sleeker, and sexier. Here are some of the key looks from Missoni FW24 that we think deserve a spotlight.

Stripes at Missoni? Iconic as ever

The first look on Missoni’s FW24 runway featured an element renowned to the brand: stripes. A monochromatic pair of silk trousers with bold stripes is paired with a greyscale fur jacket that also featured striping, only in the form of diagonal zips which covered the entire garment.

Missoni said “shag” for FW24, with a series of looks adorned with a loop-knit texture. In particular, this light blue, floor-length gown with a crossed neckline was entirely designed in a loop-knit texture. The diversity of textures, between draped silk and the thick blankets of knitwear, in Missoni’s collection elevated each look, but this one specifically was iconic.

Burgundy and pink combined flawlessly in the form of a loop-knit, puff-ball jacket in this next look. This was paired with sleek, striped, silk trousers which pooled around the model’s legs, and a striped burgundy and pink headscarf-style hat which dipped low over her eyes. These hats appeared throughout Missoni’s collection, with tie details at the back.

The next look featured an oversized collared detail in the same loop-knit texture, this time appearing in brown and yellow stripes. This was paired with a khaki blazer, left open, over a loosely hung, orange-striped trouser and shirt set. A hat silk headscarf in the same pattern accessorised the look.

Finally, a duo of looks, one monochromatic and the other a warmer toned, appeared in the same styles. Featuring a floor-length fur jacket with interchanging textures between stripes, paired with striped Daisy Duke shorts over tights, and the same iconic headwear seen in the rest of the collection. Hung from the models’ necks were also gold pendant necklaces in the shape of a megaphone.
