The week many of us have been waiting for is finally here. Christmas week gives all of us a chance to kick back and relax, although the sneaker industry shows no signs of slowing down. Adidas looks to be enhancing its foam line, with teasers doing the rounds of a YEEZY inspired sneaker releasing under the 3-stripes banner. Heron Preston continues to show us that orange really is the new black with a collaborative project with the 3D-print enthusiasts Zellerfeld, whilst Jordan Brand and YEEZY both have silhouettes dropping before Christmas Day.
HERON PRESTON x ZELLERFELD
You’d be forgiven for not having heard of Zellerfeld before. The Hamburg-based brand specialises in manufacturing, with 3D printing the companies latest avenue to fabricate. The only reason Zellerfeld landed on my radar was because of the collaboration with streetwear icon Heron Preston for a pair of bright orange 3D sneakers. If you know of Preston, you will understand that the eye-catching orange hue is somewhat of a signature for the designer. Upon setting eyes on this sneaker, you just knew this was one of his own.
Zellerfeld is the brainchild of mad scientist Cornelius Schmitt, who is on a quest to lace every sneakerhead in 3D printed silhouettes. Breaking into the sneaker industry is no small feat, though, with the big brands like Nike and adidas essentially gatekeeping what your fellow collector thinks is cool. Linking up with the likes of Heron Preston is a smart move, though, as everyone within the sneaker and streetwear community respects him greatly.
At a price point of US$350, the 3D sneakers do not come cheap, and I don’t think I ever had any intention of owning a pair of computer-generated shoes. I will, however, be keeping an eye on whatever Preston and Schmitt get up to next, which I guess is half the battle won already.

ADIDAS SUFFERING FROM FOAM-O
OK, so maybe adidas don’t have FOMO in the traditional sense. Still, it looks as if the German sportswear giant will capitalise on the incredible success of the YEEZY Foam Runner by releasing a full foam adidas sneaker. Details around the silhouette are limited, with IG page @sneakerjamz_new leaking the images.
The uppers are crafted entirely from foam, and with the YEEZY connection ever-present, it is fair to assume these are sculpted from the super sustainable EVO Foam made famous by Ye. The shape is reminiscent of the adidas running line, although many compare the eye-catching silhouette to a t-rex skull. A more traditional sole unit looks to replace the foam underfoot, making this the perfect performance piece of foam footwear.
If you are looking for a genuine sportswear alternative to the Crocs, adidas has you covered.
AIR JORDAN 1 ELEMENT GORE-TEX SAIL
Jordan Brand is continuing to build on the impressive 2021 it has had, with one final pair of Air Jordan 1’s. The iconic silhouette has long been a fan favourite for collectors across the globe, with the most recent rendition covered in Gore-Tex, making the shoe perfect for all elements.
The minimalistic design features the ever-popular sail hue, whilst Gore-Tex stars alongside an eclectic mix of suede and leather. The off white colour is contrasted by a grey and black colour palette with shades of purple even featuring. You will find retro branding throughout, with the OG wings logo present on the ankle of the sneaker and Nike Air logos on the shoe’s tongue. Underfoot, a classic AJ1 sole unit houses Nike Air technology, completing this Air Jordan 1.
With the temperatures continuing to drop and everybody wishing for a white Christmas, owning a pair of Gore-Tex sneakers is an absolute must. Do not miss the chance to brag to your family sneakerheads with the AJ1 Element this holiday season.
YEEZY BOOST 350 V2 MX ROCK
Kanye West has had one of the busiest years of any sneaker designer, with adidas releasing enough pairs of YEEZY’s to lace the nation. The 350 V2 is one of the most legendary silhouettes to release under the collaborative banner, with Ye back to his best with the upcoming MX Rock.
The upper comes crafted from the primeknit material, making the YEEZY Boost one of the most comfortable sneakers around. However, the design across the upper sees West flex his creative muscles. A mix of earth-toned swirls covers the sock-like material. This sneaker looks to draw clear inspiration from Mars, something evident with the shoes out of this world look. A translucent sole unit below houses the world-famous Ultra Boost technology. The combination of the brown midsole and gum outsole completes the striking YEEZY Boost 350v2 MX Rock perfectly.
If you have any space left on your Christmas wish-list, we recommend adding Ye’s latest sneaker. You will not be disappointed.
