The Italian Maison Loro Piana continues to showcase its commitment to its sailing heritage, having just announced that it will be the official Title Sponsor for the 71st edition of the Giraglia Regatta, the Mediterranean sailing competition not to be missed.
Taking place during June 7 till June 15, the Giraglia Regatta is organised by the Yacht Club Italiano and will showcase Loro Piana’s position as a key Italian tastemaker. The sponsorship also testifies to the merging of the worlds of sports and fashion, as we’re about to see more of at the Olympics and in F1 this year.
The Loro Piana Giraglia 2024 will kickstart with four days of coastal races, which you can catch a glimpse of on the scenic shores of Saint-Tropez. On June 12, the main event will take place across 241 nautical miles, starting from the French Riviera destination to Genoa, passing by the Giraglia island in Northern Corsica.
This year will mark an especially special moment for the Maison, as, alongside crew, the Deputy Chairman Pier Liugui will participate in the Giraglia Regatta aboard his boat My Song. The CEO of the Italian Maison, Damien Bertrand, said “There has always been a very strong connection between Loro Piana and sailing. We share many common values: tradition, passion – or should I say obsession – for excellence, for perfection, for perseverance… even more so through the lens of the Giraglia Regatta. Sailing means contact with nature, but also research: it is an extraordinary open-air laboratory that has always been exploited by Loro Piana to experiment with the best performing and most innovative solutions.”
Loro Piana places itself as the sovereign of the seas – or at least the Mediterranean – with the brand’s core values of fair play, sportsmanship, tradition, and performance being put on full blast at this year’s Giraglia Regatta.
