The Land Rover Defender brings luxury to any landscape, and its latest all-terrain vehicle, the Land Rover OCTA, is its most powerful yet. The newest model builds on the merging of adventure and aesthetics that the Defender has come to represent, thanks to its tried-and-tested record of reliability and strength, with some timelessly good looks thrown in the mix, too.

The latest model features a V8 Twin Turbo mild-hybrid petrol engine, which works with an industry-leading 6D dynamic air suspension. This ensures the best of both worlds when it comes to performance, either on or off-road.

Mark Cameron, managing director of Defender, shared how the OCTA looked to the trailblazing legacy of the Defender Series 1, released in 1948. “Defender has been synonymous with all-terrain capability with a bloodline tracing back to the Series 1 in 1948. New Defender OCTA will take this to another level with a dramatic stance, innovative technology and unparalleled attention to detail. With astounding performance and a bold new attitude, it will enable our clients to master epic adventures in heightened luxury.”

The hydraulic interlinked 6D Dynamics technology ensures control, capability, and composure across an innovative pitch and roll control system. This system will enable the Defender OCTA to maintain a near-level stance during acceleration, braking, and cornering on the road while maximising independent wheel travel and articulation across off-road terrain.

But as we know, with Defender, it looks as good as it performs. The car’s name, OCTA, is inspired by the octahedron shape of a diamond, the hardest naturally occurring surface on earth and one of the most luxurious – a perfect motif for Land Rover’s latest vehicle. A diamond graphic features across several interior and exterior components, including a gloss black diamond within a machined and sandblasted titanium disk on each signature graphic panel.

Patrick McGillycuddy, Managing Director of Jaguar Land Rover UK, saw the vehicle’s strength in pushing Land Rover’s luxury legacy. “This highly exclusive new model takes the brand to new heights, exploring the ultimate in tough luxury and blending performance and off-road capability in one enthralling vehicle.”

The OCTA continues Defender’s daring balance between form and function, being a true beacon of design that has stood the test of time. Rooted in utilitarian engineering, the Defender OCTA is the perfect balance of past and present, waiting for your next adventure.

Ahead of its full reveal later this year, prospective clients will be invited to attend exclusive previews as part of a new global Defender Elements series. The Land Rover Defender OCTA will be available in 90, 110, and 130 body styles, with up to 8 seats.
