Think Land Rover Defender and you probably think of almost invisible all-terrain cars that can handle anything that comes their way. And with the 2025 Land Rover Defender OCTA, you wouldn’t be wrong to think that.

Defender OCTA is the toughest, most capable and most luxurious model in the Land Rover family, pushing the capability of the Defender 110 to an unprecedented level. Powered by a 635PS 4.4-litre Twin Turbo mild-hybrid V8 engine and equipped with 6D Dynamic suspension.

Anyway, to the nitty-gritty. The Land Rover Defender OCTA’s hydraulic suspension features three valves on each damper, which independently modulate compression and rebound damping. These are networked through a central Load Distribution Unit, which continuously adjusts system pressure.

If this is all getting a bit complicated, fear not. Here’s the lowdown. On the road, the 6D Dynamic suspension enhances stability in all conditions for top comfort and performance, whereas off-road, it allows greater wheel articulation, where wheel movement is not constrained by anti-roll bars. Twin turbochargers help produce peak torque from 1,800 – 5,900 rpm, and a Dynamic launch Mode delivers maximum torque transmission to all four wheels. Basically, it’s super quick and controlled.

To show off the car’s capabilities, Land Rover released a film showing what the Land Rover Defender OCTA is made of. In the short film, we get taken on a full-throttle off-road adventure, where the Defender OCTA accelerates along dirt rodes, navigates colossal climbs, handling puddles, ponds and any kind of water it faces with ease, all with Land Rover’s signature all-terrain readiness.

If you like what you see, the Land Rover Defender OCTA will be available to purchase from £145,000. Oh, and in some other Land Rover-related news, it is the official vehicle partner of Glastonbury Festival.
