The Kardashian-Jenner clan have infiltrated our lives in every way imaginable, giving us SKIMS shapewear from Kim Kardashian, momager envy from Kris Jenner, and now, following in the footsteps of Rosalía, modelling chops courtesy of Kylie Jenner for Acne Studios.
Indeed, Acne Studios has enlisted the beauty mogul and influencer sensation to front its Fall/Winter 2023 denim campaign. Shot in Los Angeles by the Dutch photographer and director Carlijn Jacobs, the campaign sees Kylie Jenner as her most authentic and stripped-back self.
Images range from ones that see Kylie Jenner dragging a dishevelled doppelgänger, to more demure and evocative ones that pair a topless Jenner with Acne Studios’ latest denim.
The bottoms are largely worn undone and oversized, and are finished with dirt-effect washes and heavy amounts of distressing. A notable pair is Acne Studios’ new 2023 denim, which features a “Penicillin” wash or an oily wet-look finish, something which is emulated by Kylie Jenner’s on-trend wet hair look and body paint dishevelmen
Speaking on the project, Kylie Jenner said: “I love the organic relationship I’ve built with Acne Studios. I am a fan of the brand and I’ve worn their product over the past few years. This campaign is one of my favourites. I loved working with Carlijn and I love the simplicity of the images, they have strength in their directness.”
Jacobs added: “The campaign sought to showcase Kylie as a woman who is in control, has love for herself and is unafraid to embrace her desires. I aimed to celebrate her individuality by doubling her. She loves herself and is not afraid to show it.”
