A year after showing his last collection in a wheat field, Simon Porte Jacquemus is back, this time in a blown-up dome posing as a tent to showcase his FW21 collection “La Montagne”.
Translating to “The Mountain” in English, La Montagne presented both womenswear and menswear looks. Colour-blocking took center stage as the models walked down the runway in whites, hot pinks, blacks, baby blues and browns. In typical Jacquemus fashion we saw floor-length skirts and their matching crop tops, oversized suits and new cut-out necklines. The show wasn’t without a hint of provincial floral prints and a fair share of accessories, including a reiteration of the Chiquito mini bag. With an array of outerwear, footwear, warmer and colder-season clothing, La Montagne felt like a complete collection from the French designer.
The FW21 show saw some of Jacquemus personal favourite models, including Bella Hadid, Jill Kortleve, Joan Smalls, Imaan Hammam, Adut Akech and even Kendall Jenner, after her short runway hiatus. With a casting like that, it’s only fair for the audience to impress as well, as celebrity guests such as Rosalía, Damso, Angèle, A$AP Nast and Aminé all made an appearance.
Speaking of the collection, the designer took to his Instagram to say “For this collection, after such a particular year, I wanted to gather people inside and share a fashion moment together. I wanted to focus on the clothes, the silhouettes, the colours, the fabrics, the details and the energy of the models”. He goes on, “I wanted the set to be minimal and sharp, recreating an abstract artistic mountain that portrays the inspiration of the collection“.

After a year of no shows, we are glad to say Jacquemus, welcome back! If you missed the show, make sure to watch it below and shop the full collection already available on jacquemus.com.
