Have you seen the latest Mugler campaign film? Under creative director Casey Cadwallader, Mugler has become known for its star-studded campaign films that drop with each new season. Last time around, we saw Bella Hadid and Dominique Jackson amongst the many other pop culture icons and supermodels performing their signature struts, or suspended in mid air, falling backwards.
So naturally, this season’s instalment had big (heels) to fill. Creating their third and final pairing, Mugler teamed up with Torso Solutions for the campaign, and drew on some of the biggest names in fashion, music and culture at large to pull it off. Notably, this season saw Mugler and Torso plunge into colour, and forgo the usual monochromatic studio for a trip to Hollywood.
We see house muses Chloë Sevigny and Megan Thee Stallion strut through deserts and dark rooms, alongside returning alumni Bella, Dominique and Lourdes Leon. Providing the soundtrack is Shygirl – one of the most exciting and dynamic musicians on the scene as of yet.
Featuring heavily are the iconic Mugler catsuits, which have been dubbed the modern day pop-star uniform for their popularity onstage, in music videos and on red carpets. Seen on everyone from Dua Lipa (custom diamante) to Megan Thee Stallion (in a music video directed by Casey himself), they have become somewhat of a symbol for Cadwallader’s Mugler. In the film, we see new iterations of the silhouette – with a distinct emphasis on the Mugler barely-there tulle that has become the main event.
