Here’s what went down at FKA Twigs’ Met after party at The Standard

If the walls of FKA Twigs’ Met Gala afterparty could talk, they’d say “you’re never recovering from this much FOMO.”

Last night, after turning heads on the steps of the Metropolitan Museum of Art for the 2024 Met Gala (you literally can’t have missed it), celebrities packed up, got changed, and headed to The Standard High Line in Chelsea where the Boom Boom Room is located. Found on the rooftop of The Standard, the Boom is one of those IYKYK clubs that feels like being let in on a secret, which is exactly why it’s the perfect destination for the Met’s most elusive after party.

Plenty of clubs around Manhattan hosted post-Met Gala soirées last night, but what sets the Boom Boom Room above the rest is the fact that it was actually the venue’s 25th anniversary of Met Gala parties. In the club’s Met history, its welcomed hosts including Cardi B, Katy Perry, Lizzo, and more, a roster that FKA Twigs is now a part of.

The Boom’s Met Gala After Party’s host – with the most – last night was none other than FKA Twigs, who transformed from her lab-grown Stella McCartney diamond look and into a more comfortable slinky, off-the-shoulder dress, both styled by Georgia Pendlebury, welcoming guests into the venue to drink, dance, and dissect each others Met Gala looks like the rest of us (or so we imagine).

Joining FKA Twigs after an evening of climbing the Met steps (or being carried up them if you’re Tyla) were Lil Nas X and Camila Cabello, voguing behind the DJ booth; Pierpaolo Piccioli sipping champagne with Christian Cowan and Sam Smith; A$AP Ferg and Teezo Touchdown vibing to DJ Koreless’ set; and designers Prabal Gurung, LaQuan Smith, and Harris Reed who we’d love to think were exchanging notes.

They partied to three of FKA Twigs’ new, unreleased tracks, one of which she performed live at the venue, ahead of all three being dropped as part of her upcoming album. Perhaps as iconic as the celebs that FKA Twigs welcomed to the Boom Boom Room last night, you might also remember that Boom hosted the party where the events that inspired Beyonce’s Lemonade took place. Remember the drama involving the infamous elevator? Like we said: if these walls could talk.
