Bank holiday Monday is around the corner and we can already hear feathers swooshing and thrumming drums. That’s right, Notting Hill Carnival is fast approaching.
The annual festival’s kaleidoscopic displays and boosted bass tunes have decorated the streets of London since the 1960’s. Carnival’s cultural legacy, brings forth Caribbean food, music, culture to the people of London, from all cultures and backgrounds.
Whether you’re necking a few more cans than necessary or planning on somehow getting mixed in with the parade, there’s notting (get it?) you need more than a fool proof Carni collection. From Wales Bonner x Adidas kicks (for all your walking) to the Mowalola aptly titled ‘Bad Slut’ baby tee and a Nicholas Daley crochet bag. Of course celebrating Caribbean culture in all of its jovial nature means supporting their designers, and all of the Black-British designers that contribute their talents to upholding the UK’s creative identity. And with that we say, let Carnival commence!
