GANNI and 66°NORTH’s fourth collab is cold weather ready

GANNI and 66°NORTH have partnered up for the fourth time to release a fourteen piece collection that features all-weather essentials for the looming colder months. First shown as part of GANNI’s FW23 show at Copenhagen Fashion Week back in February, the collaborative collection is finally dropping today. Here’s what you need to know.

Danish luxury fashion brand GANNI, and Icelandic heritage brand 66°NORTH might not initially seem to have too much in common. But their united Northern European respect for the cold is what makes them the perfect duo to release a collaborative all-weather fall-winter collection, as they’ve proven three times before.

In the latest collaboration 66°NORTH’s practical aesthetic meets GANNI’s playful style, combining to create a collection that merges features that make it both essential for the upcoming temperamental weather conditions and full of staple pieces your wardrobe is missing.

Lightweight and breathable waterproofs made out of recycled Gore-tex fabric are designed with wind-stopping qualities. However, they also pull on the silhouettes and styles from GANNI’s archives, to create jackets that are both elevated and practical.

The SS19 Kria Jacket combined the technical construction of one of f 66°NORTH’s first performance garments in the 1990s with the striking colours palette of GANNI’s iconic Chelsea boot. And this same use of bold, colour blocking is seen throughout the collection, on cargo pants, skirts, long jackets, and zip-up vests.

One of the biggest unities between GANNI and 66°NORTH is their combined effort to lower the environmental impacts of their collections. For example, this is seen in fleece base layers which are created out of 95% recycled polyester made from the plastic litter in the ocean, and their use of a solution dyes on several of the designs in the collection, which is both Bluesign and Oeko-Tex certified.
