Tekla and Auralee bring Scandinavian winter living into focus

Combining Auralee's expertise in textile development with Tekla's approach to functional homeware.

Copenhagen-based homeware label Tekla and Japanese fashion brand Auralee have reunited for their second collaborative collection, presenting a selection of ready-to-wear, sleepwear and home essentials inspired by the Scandinavian winter.

Following their debut partnership, which explored traditional Japanese bathing rituals, the latest release shifts its attention to Nordic culture and the relationship between the outdoors and the comforts of home. Drawing inspiration from the Scandinavian concept of "friluftsliv," which celebrates spending time in nature, the collection explores the experience of dressing for colder temperatures before returning to the warmth of familiar surroundings.

Combining Auralee's expertise in textile development with Tekla's approach to functional homeware, the collection introduces knitwear to Tekla's offering for the first time. Boat-neck jumpers and crew-neck cardigans arrive in a blend of superfine wool and cashmere, presented in earthy "Soil Brown" and "Forest Green" colourways. Cashmere arm and neck warmers, alongside organic cotton socks, complete the winter-ready selection.

Elsewhere, the collaboration expands into sleepwear, introducing brushed organic cotton flannel shirts, trousers and boxer shorts. Each piece arrives in a "Dawn Checks" pattern, combining washed purple and orange tones inspired by early morning skies. Relaxed silhouettes are complemented by subtle detailing, including mother-of-pearl buttons and pointed collars.

The collection also extends into home accessories, with two-tone shearling slippers, organic cotton percale bedding and lambswool blankets. The bedding arrives in a rich brown finish, while the blankets feature muted "Pine Stripes," bringing Auralee's considered approach to colour into Tekla's homeware offering.

Speaking on the collaboration, Tekla founder and creative director Charlie Hedin reflected on the importance of Scandinavian winter traditions, explaining how the contrast between spending time outdoors and returning home continues to influence the brand's approach to comfort and material development.

The accompanying campaign, photographed by Nikki McClarron, brings this concept to life through scenes of friends embracing the Scandinavian winter before retreating indoors. The imagery reflects the collection's central theme, capturing the transition between cold outdoor environments and the warmth of home.

The Tekla x Auralee collection launches on October 28, 2026, through Tekla's Copenhagen and Marylebone stores, Auralee Tokyo, both brands' websites and selected retailers. Prices range from €32 for accessories to €390 for lambswool blankets.
