Stone Island is continuing to explore the relationship between clothing and culture with the latest chapter of its ongoing "Community as a Form of Research" project, bringing together a new group of figures from across music, art, architecture and film.
The initiative has become a recurring part of the Italian label’s creative output, using its campaigns as a way to spotlight people contributing to contemporary culture rather than simply reflecting it. Previous editions have featured names including A.G. Cook, Feid, Charlie Hunnam, Chito Vera and Breanna Stewart, with the latest instalment extending that conversation through an equally varied cast.
Among those featured are British rapper Skepta, rising musician fakemink and actor Stephen Graham, joined by Japanese artist 3House, architect Samir Bantal, art dealer Monika Sprüth and filmmaker Jia Zhang-Ke. Together, the group represents the different creative disciplines that Stone Island draws upon as part of its ongoing cultural research.
Each participant has been photographed wearing pieces from the label, with styling by Max Pearmain. The campaign also continues Stone Island’s collaboration with curator Hans Ulrich Obrist, who has developed a series of questions for each subject, allowing the project to move beyond traditional fashion imagery and explore the ideas and perspectives shaping their respective practices.
fakemink appears in a vivid orange hooded jacket constructed from textured nylon and treated with resin before being heat-pressed to achieve its glossy surface. Skepta takes a more technical approach in a heavyweight nylon jacket featuring a PrimaLoft-TC quilted interior.
Stephen Graham wears a monochromatic piece from the Stone Island Ghost line, with his lambskin coach jacket finished in a sprayed rubberised coating. Elsewhere, 3House wears a lightweight jacket produced through a particularly hands-on process, with Japanese polyester and polyamide yarns individually dyed, heat-treated and hand-painted, meaning each garment is unique.
