Remember when CELINE took over the Wiltern last year for its Winter 2023/2024 show? Well Hedi Slimane is treating us to a runway video that takes us back to the show and revisits the special performances by Iggy Pop, The Strokes and Interpol.
It’s no secret that Slimane is a rockstar fanatic - when have his CELINE collections not given us “I’m with the band” energy, if not being the frontman or woman of the band? For Winter 2023/2024, the French brand took over the Los Angeles Wiltern Theatre, a place as iconic as its hosted performances.
It’s a classic LA landmark that is named after its location at the intersection of Wilshire Boulevard and Western Avenue, and has been the stage to performances from the likes of Prince, James Browne, Nina Simone, Bob Dylan, The Rolling Stones, Iggy Pop, Amy Winehouse, The Strokes… basically every and any big name in the rock world has made their appearance there.
For Winter 2023/2024, Slimane took over the Wiltern to show his leather-clad, skinny scarves, jeans and leather trousers filled collection. There were fringed boots, low-waist placed belts, motorcycle-style boots and the background flashing lights to match the high life, rockstar mindset.
