At AGRO Studio’s Spring/Summer 2027 show, corsets came with tracksuit bottoms, sculpted silhouettes were interrupted by tiny baby tees, and delicate fabrics were pushed against denim, leather and sportswear.
The London-based label has built its identity around the technical stuff; corsetry, tailoring, leatherwork and made-to-measure pieces. And for SS27, titled “Glass Body,” that approach became more ambitious.
Transparency provided the collection’s starting point. Tulle and lace were layered, distressed and manipulated around the body, while thousands of antique and discarded buttons were used across garments to create distorted surfaces. Corsetry tightened silhouettes before volumes suddenly expanded around hips and hems, waists dropped lower and shoulders occasionally grew enormous.
Historical dress met 1980s sportswear and ballet references appeared alongside tailoring. A huge taffeta ballgown covered in hand-beaded polka dots existed in the same world as a “NO MORE AGRO” baby tee. Elsewhere, tracksuits were decorated with ribbons, pinstripe tailoring exploded into flares and tiny corseted pieces were balanced against oversized outerwear.
Mustard yellow, brown, khaki, black and dusty tones ran throughout, occasionally interrupted by cooler blues and greens. Instead of giving the collection the polished prettiness you might expect from its couture references, the palette made everything feel slightly dirty and lived-in.
Not every look needed quite so much going on and at times, the sheer number of ideas competing for attention meant some of the strongest silhouettes became harder to appreciate. When the collection was at its best, it felt like two people throwing everything they love about getting dressed into the same room and working out how to make it coexist.
