Kiko Kostadinov has joined forces with Laura and Deanna Fanning to launch a new unisex ASICS line. Titled Novalis, it reflects the athletic performance of ASICS in innovative products which celebrate the practicality of everyday life.
The collection consists of three Gel Teremoa sneakers, a new design which introduces a fresh upper and design tooling, being sleek and futuristic whilst remaining true to the retro running aesthetic associated with ASICS. The sneakers provide the perfect blend of fashion and function, arriving in “Medallion Yellow;” “Obsidian Black,” and “Pewter Purple.”
By fusing ASICS’ athletic looks with Kiko Kostadinov’s elevated “everyday uniform” designs, the trainers represent a shared vision between the two brands. The shoes make use of ASICS’ gel technology as well as BLAST PLUS foam material adding some extra bounce to each stylish stride taken by its wearer.
Bomber jackets are crafted from a stretchable twill and feature multifunctional pockets, and a “Heveanoid” parka features an integrated hood for further everyday practicality. Also dropping is a selection of hoodies, T-shirts, caps and trousers.
Filmmaker Frank Lebon lensed a captivating campaign for the release. It sees the collection’s workwear-leaning utilitarian garments worn by a diverse cast of talent, including dancers, who put the shoe’s movement-focused features to the test. The relaxed cuts of the co-branded clothing capsule are showcased by its wearers in a large-scale studio space, as models danced, jigged and posed for the esteemed director.
As is the case with any Kiko Kostadinov x ASICS release, these are catnip for anyone living within a 1 mile radius of Kingsland High Street, so you’ll have to be quick if you want to stunt at the Spurstowe.
ASICS Novalis is available online and at selected retail partners.
