Warner Bros. has unveiled the first trailer for 'Dune: Part Three', giving fans their first proper look at Denis Villeneuve's final chapter in the blockbuster sci-fi saga.
The film returns to Arrakis for what is expected to be the conclusion of the director's adaptation of Frank Herbert's iconic novels, while revealing just how much time has passed since the previous instalment.
Speaking following the trailer's release, Villeneuve confirmed that the story picks up 17 years after the events of 'Dune: Part Two'. That time jump sees Paul Atreides, once again played by Timothée Chalamet, facing the devastating consequences of his rise to power.
Now emperor, Paul's religious crusade has spiralled into a conflict spanning countless planets, with the trailer hinting at a far darker and more introspective chapter than audiences have seen before. The visuals reflect that shift too, with Villeneuve employing a dedicated "Psychedelic Unit" during production to create more dreamlike and emotionally charged sequences.
Several familiar faces return alongside a host of new additions. Zendaya reprises her role as Chani, whose relationship with Paul appears more fractured than ever as she confronts him over the path he has chosen.
Jason Momoa also makes his long-awaited return as Hayt, the resurrected ghola of Duncan Idaho, while Robert Pattinson joins the franchise as the shape-shifting Scytale, sporting a striking platinum-blonde transformation. Elsewhere, Anya Taylor-Joy steps into a much larger role as Alia Atreides, Paul's younger sister, who is teased in the trailer covered in blood and fiercely loyal to her family.
'Dune: Part Three' is set to arrive in cinemas on December 18, 2026, bringing Villeneuve's acclaimed trilogy to its long-awaited conclusion.
