Sometimes this timeline just isn’t the vibe, and we can't help thinking about what it might be like to live in the worlds we see in cinema.
World-building is arguably one of the main things that take a movie from good to GOATed, whether its location is set on Earth, in space, or in a fantasy land of its creator's imagination. If you're like us and you use film as a form of escapism, then movies that transport you far away from everyday life is essential. And the better the location, the further you can escape.
From the fantasy locations of Fantastic Mr. Fox (2009) or Nausicaa of the Valley of the Wind (1984) to the dystopian futurism of Ex Machina (2014) or Bladerunner 2049 (2017) to the romanticised realism of Call Me By Your Name (2017) and Moonrise Kingdom (2012), we've rounded up some of the landscapes in film that we’d like to take a look around.
Swipe to see which worlds we most wanna live in.
