It’s that time of year again: Camp Flog Gnaw Carnival 2024 is back for its 10th anniversary this weekend on 16-17th November at the Dodgers Stadium. Here’s everything you need to know about the Tyler, the Creator-founded annual festival.
What is Camp Flog Gnaw?
For those who don’t know, the legendary LA festival founded by Tyler, the Creator has been the go-to event for people on the West Coast ever since its first, make-shift try back in 2012. Although, back then it was called OFWGKTA, a.k.a. Odd Future Wolf Gang Kill Them All, and was headlined by some of Tyler’s friends including Lil Wayne and Action Bronson. Since Tyler joined forces with Goldenvoice to scale up the operation, it’s become a multi-day, immersive carnival with some of the biggest artists in Hip-Hop, R&B, Indie and whoever else Tyler is feeling at the time.
Flog Gnaw’s had some crazy headliners over the years like Drake (who got booed offstage) in 2019, Kanye West and Kid Cudi performing in 2018, and A$AP Rocky sharing the stage with Lil Yachty in 2017.
What to know about Camp Flog Gnaw 2024
Being set at the Dodger Stadium like last year, Tyler has pulled out all the stops for this anniversary with a crazy lineup that includes Playboi Carti, André 3000, Erykah Badu and Kaytranada amongst a number of other heavy hitters. But with such a big line-up and occasion, here are a couple of tips from veteran Flog Gnaw goers:
- Plan ahead - check the set times before and make a game plan so you know where you’re going at what time.
- Wear comfortable shoes, it’s not worth the steez if you can’t enjoy the show properly.
- Eat properly before you go - food can get expensive at festivals so it’ll be good to eat plenty beforehand.
- Rent lockers - whether you have a lot of your own belongings or are planning to buy merch, make sure you put it in lockers so you’re not jumping around with a heavy backpack for your sake and for the people around you.
- Bring a jacket or sweater because it can get pretty chilly at night.
- A portable charger is a must, especially if you’re trying to film for the IG stories.
- If you get scared of the crowd, get out!
