Dua Lipa hits the city as the face of the new CHANEL 25 campaign

Chanel just dropped its latest campaign, celebrating the unveiling of the new CHANEL 25 handbag, and its enlisted Dua Lipa as its face. Shot by Gordon von Steiner, the campaign film follows Dua Lipa, decked out in Chanel, exploring the bustling streets of NY and hanging out in a photo studio.

Soundtracked to a true club classic (IYKYK) “She Drives Me Crazy” by the Fine Young Cannibals, the short film is laid back and casual. Chatting to the person behind the camera, Dua says, “I love that song. It’s such an anthem from the ‘90s, and I’ve always loved that era, probably because that’s when I was born. I find it’s often a time I go back to whether it’s fashion, music or film. I find it so inspiring.”

The CHANEL 25 bag has a very ‘90s vibe about it too, which is maybe why Dua makes the perfect face of its campaign. The bag’s actually a descendant of the Chanel 2.55 launched by Coco herself in 1955, so she’s earned her spot in Chanel’s legacy. Heir to the House's emblematic bags, this new design revisits the codes - quilting, interlaced chain, multiple pockets - with a bold, functional approach.

As Dua says, “I’m obsessed with this bag. It’s the perfect kind of bag for me as someone who’s always on the move and likes to carry around everything, especially because it’s got these great pockets for all my favourite things. There’s a place for my books, a place for my sunglasses, maybe a notebook or two, and even a place for my crystals. It’s just the perfect everyday bag!”

The CHANEL 25 isn’t available yet, but come March she’ll be dropping in three sizes and a mouthwatering array of pastel shades. Watch this space.
