What happens when you ask porn stars to act? That’s the question director and photographer Nadia Lee Cohen asked herself ahead of her shoot with Dsquared2 for its Spring/Summer 2024 campaign. A charming display of authenticity through unplanned mishaps is the answer.

The Dean and Dan Caten-led brand Dsquared2 is no stranger to the world of adult films, having a long history of provocative campaigns and its SS24 show set being a literal porn shoot. Lee Cohen has been dealing with portraying on camera sexuality for quite some time now, notably within her published photography best-seller book Women, most often than not with a subversive twist.

For this campaign which includes imagery and videos, Dsquared2 and Lee Cohen tapped the legendary Bosnian-Serb model Nataša Vojnović to star in the campaign alongside Tony Ward, actor and model known for his role in Hustler White which deals with themes of homoeroticism and hustle culture in 1980s Los Angeles.

The latest Dsquared2 campaign sees Vojnović sipping on her drink before being called on set, and sitting in her chair while waiting for lighting to get fixed. Styled by Haley Wollens, Vojnović, alongside the other models present, can be seen wearing the latest season’s offerings, including the iconic pearl bra-top. Lighting crew and random dogs perusing around the set were intently included, furthering capturing the authentic chaos behind any shoot.

Speaking on the shoot, Lee Cohen says “Sprawling vastly behind the hills of Hollywood, the San Fernando Valley was the home and birthing ground of the booming porn industry in the 1990s.” She adds “Authenticity was key: we intentionally gave the actors their lines only on the morning of the shoot – that’s how it would have happened on an adult set in the 90s. This of course resulted in clunky, deadpan delivery and numerous mistakes, which, to me, only made the whole thing all the more charming.”

For all of you who think they don’t make porn like they used to, Nadia Lee Cohen and Dsquared2 are here to fulfil your deepest and nastiest desires.
