Whether you’re channelling Cowboy Carter, Pharrell’s Louis Vuitton, or Britney and Justin at the 2001 American Music Awards (you know the pic), summer’s here and it’s time to break out your full denim fits. We’ve created a shopping guide to buying denim that’ll point you in the direction of a new denim jacket, statement jeans, pair of jorts, or even a j-andbag to complete your double denim fit.

Telfar Detachable Jean Jacket – £186.34 / $200.00

Telfar dropped its denim apparel range yesterday and we’re already obsessed. In particular, this detachable denim jacket with removable sleeves – transforming it from the classic long-sleeved look to an iconic vest – comes with an adjustable waist tab, custom hardware, and debased leather patch in the back. It’s only been out for one day and is already an essential.

Acne Studios Blue Belted Denim Shorts – £290.00 / $361.21

If there’s one thing we’re wearing every day this summer, it’s jorts (and you should too). This pair from Acne Studios in faded organic cotton are the perfect loose fitting, distressed style for throwing on with a basic tee or sweatshirt. If you don’t own a pair of jorts already, make these your first.

Eckhaus Latta Blue Baggy Jeans – £485.00 / $604.10

Everyone already has a pair of basic denim jeans in their wardrobe, but these from Eckhaus Latta jeans are anything but basic. With a kind of sun-imprinted, Trompe L’oeil detailing, the front and back of the jeans appear to be detailed with another shade of denim, when in fact they’re bleached in this style.

Dion Lee Pocket Denim Bra Top – £390.00 / $485.77

A slightly more unconventional use of denim appears in the form of this Dion Lee bra top, available at Farfetch. In a clean, dark-blue denim shade, with a pair of iconic pockets on the cups, this bra top is perfect for elevating your Canadian tuxedo with something a little more playful.

AAPE by A Bathing Ape Purple Denim Jacket – £350.00 / $435.95

A classic denim jacket with a twist, AAPE by A Bathing Ape’s lightweight, non-stretch denim jacket appears in the silhouette we tend to see jean jackets in, but applies a unique pattern throughout. Look close and you’ll see it’s printed with the iconic BAPE logo camouflage print in washed purple, as well as featuring an array of BAPE logo patches.

Acne Studios Blue & Brown Logo Shoulder Tote – £600.00 / $753.25

Denim bags are blowing up right now, but this one from Acne Studios is a little different from the rest. Rather than appearing in the classic navy or light blue colourways, this denim bag features a warmer combination of blues and browns. You might not have noticed that it’s also a Trompe L’œil graphic, and is actually made from cotton canvas.

Diesel Tapered D-Lab Track Denim 0cbdn Jeans – £405.00 / $504.45

The marbled, bleach-effect finish on these tapered Diesel denim pants sets it apart from your classic jeans in a way that we love. With a sporty aesthetic and the brand’s iconic Oval D logo embossed on the fabric, these are a pair of jeans with something different to offer.

 Jean Paul Gaultier Navy Trompe L’oeil Mini Dress – £420.00 / $450.78

One of these denim pieces is not like the others… and it’s this Jean Paul Gaultier mini dress. Can you guess why? Because it’s Trompe L’oeil, meaning that whilst the dress is designed to look like denim, it’s actually made from a stretchy, comfortable jersey. You get the casual aesthetic of a denim dress, with the figure-hugging fit of skin-tight jersey: the best of both worlds.

HUGO Blue-Denim Jacket with Checkerboard Jacquard – £159.00 / $198.89

A classic denim jacket with a little edge, HUGO’s checkerboard jacquard denim jacket is slightly more unique than your average jean button up. Majorly, its checkered detailing adds a stylish touch to their oversized outerwear essential that’ll have your fit step up another level.

INUKII Levy Jeans High Dark Blue – £202.42 / $253.18

INUIKII’s slightly distressed denim sneakers are bold, blue, and perfect for stepping into summer. A Canadian tuxedo isn’t complete without a matching pair of denim crepes, so make sure to get your hands on a pair of these chunky sneakers, in light or dark blue denim.
