If you’ve been on Hinge recently, you’ve probably noticed their new update - it’s called “Your Turn Limits”, and it’s designed to put an end to unnecessary ghosting, airing, and serial matching - goes crazy, right? We linked up with Krystal to get schooled on how the new feature works, and how it’s about to change the dating game.
Last week, we tapped internet personality and friend of Culted, Krystal, to shoot a video as hilarious as dating sometimes feels, with backdrops falling, greenscreens glitching, and boom mics getting in the frame. When we asked Krystal what the vibe is on dating apps these days, she said, “you know when you’re chatting to bare matches on Hinge, and things get a bit overwhelming? Match after match, and you’re left juggling all these chats.”
Basically, if you’ve got too many matches waiting for you to get back to them, you’ll need to reply on your or end a conversation before continuing to connect with new people. Its end goal is to help you actually focus on having conversations instead of just collecting matches.
Krystal put it pretty simply when we linked up with her to explain how the new feature works, saying “it’s like your personal reminder, saying, ‘Oi, time to handle your chats!’” Knowing that Hinge found matches where the first response came within 24 hours were 72% more likely to get a date, it’s fair to say quick replies are not a turn off.
Hinge’s whole vibe is that it’s designed to be deleted, and its new Your Turn Limits feature is just speeding up that process. With Hinge finding that 44% of us would say a lack of responsiveness from our matches is making dating harder, it’s time to put an end to this era of ghosting, airing, and lost connections.
Focus on your matches, and get off the apps. It’s all about helping you move the conversation forward and get closer to that date. Cause who really wants to just sit there staring at their phone? Hit up this link to get on Hinge and start your journey.
