Summer 2021 has given us clubs reopening and sh*t weather. And while we’re thankful for the former, we just want to fast forward a few months when rainy-day appropriate wear is back in full force. With all major brands putting up their FW21 collections for sale, we figured we’d get planning early, and pick out our favourite pieces for the upcoming months for this week’s CULTED CURATES. You know the drill, if you end up purchasing one or more of these items, shoot us a DM or use the #cultedfits.

PAVEL

WALES BONNER BRIXTON VARSITY JACKET, US$1,825 / £1,350
Every winter, I buy one new coat/jacket that I will love and worship forever. This year, I have my eyes on this one. Funnily though, all my jackets are in this varsity/bomber style, it’s just what I feel suits me. The price tag is steep, but once you read the product description you understand why. Besides the beautiful details and smart cut, the jacket is made of cotton, virgin wool and Cruptu, which is a ‘regenerated cellulose’ fabric made from cotton waste. No doubt, this jacket will survive for many years, just like all my other jackets.

ACNE STUDIOS CHECKED KNITTED SCARF, US$290 / £220
I never used to wear scarfs, not sure why. What converted me was a scarf I randomly purchased a year ago. I only purchased it because it had a minimal tie dye effect, felt soft and it was on sale. This one has a similar aesthetic and looks like it would be very warm. Perhaps the scarf is now become an essential accessory for me during the winter months.

JIL SANDER ZIP-FASTENING ANKLE BOOTS, US$1,260 / £860
I spent all of last winter in Cornwall so all I needed were some waterproof trainers and some wellies. I actually saved quite a lot of money as I wasn’t buying any footwear or clothes. This winter, I’m keen to have a pair of nice, smart-ish boots. Besides my love for Jil Sander, these boots just hit all the right notes. Not too smart, not too casual, not too slim and not too chunky – might be worth the price.

FRANKIE SHOP OLYMPIA FAUX LEATHER BLAZER, US$395 / £315
It doesn’t look like oversized blazers are going anywhere for the next season, and I ain’t mad about it. They’re versatile, easy to wear as a light jacket on a night out or layering on colder days. This one is leather AND in one of my favourite colours at the moment, double bonus.

SALOMON XT-6 ADVANCED W BLACK/BLACK/PHANTOM, US$190 / £155
I need sensible footwear for when I’m dashing through the rain and jumping over puddles. These look like they’ll do just the trick. The description even says they’re designed for athletes running the toughest of races, that is often trying to get from one side of Manchester city centre to the other and staying as dry as possible.

ACNE STUDIOS LOGO HOODY, US$389 / £329
You always need a good quality, no frills hoodie in your wardrobe for the A/W season. This Acne Studios one is as simple as it gets, but that’s never a bad thing. This is your message to chuck away that same discoloured, bobbly hoodie you’ve been wearing for years and invest in a new one. You’ll thank yourself later.

PARABOOT MICHAEL COW HIDE TOUT POULS VACHE, US$485 / £350
It’s Paraboot season. One of the most widely heralded purveyors of heritage footwear silhouettes, decked out in cow hair – what’s not to love? This would, admittedly, be a strictly dry weather wear, but I’m sure there’ll be a few of those this fall.

SNOW PEAK NORAGI PANTS, US$400 / £289
I first saw Amine wear these, and have been obsessed with them ever since. While the fit is traditional, the pocketing and waistband are unique and enough to draw some attention (if my cow print paraboots don’t do that enough already).

AWAKE NY MOHAIR CARDIGAN, US$235 / £170
A perfect cardigan to wear without making a massive statement, this piece from Awake NY is a big favourite for me – along with nearly every single piece they’re releasing these days.

THE NORTH FACE 1996 RETRO NUPTSE JACKET, US$375 (APPROX.) / £270
Judging by how damp and cold this summer has been, I have a feeling this winter is going to be a tough one. I decided to opt for a timeless classic to keep me warm in the coming fall/winter months: the north face puffer – simple, yet effective. You can finish almost any outfit with this piece (especially in black), making it the perfect choice for every winter.

AMI DE COEUR EMBROIDERED KNIT JUMPER, US$450 (APPROX.) / £325
Still absolutely obsessed with anything Ami Paris, and with the colder (if that’s possible) months fast approaching, I can’t wait to start layering up again with knits and sweaters.

BALENCIAGA WIDE-LEG WOOL TROUSERS, US$1215 (APPROX.) / £875
Okay so these are a bit out of budget, but I just won’t pay my bills over the next 6 months and rely on £845 worth of trousers to keep me warm instead.

JULIETTE

ACNE STUDIOS V-NECK SWEATER, US$470 / £360
Fall/Winter is my favourite season for fashion for two reasons; you can go as baggy and as oversized as you want and you don’t have to sacrifice layering due to the insufferable heat. This sweater is the epitome of these two reasons.

GANNI CHUNKY LEATHER CHELSEA BOOTS, US$493 / £345
The chunkier the better, and I stand by that. These Ganni chunky boots are exactly what I need to get through the disgusting London snow-turned-brown-slush I just cannot wait to encounter this Winter.

DROME COLLARLESS LEATHER COAT, US$626 / £558
Leather jackets have never not been cool. Realistically, I will probably ended up thrifting one for Autumn. But this Drome leather coat caught my eye because of its collar and its side cut outs. It’s my inspiration for when I do go thrifting.
