This week, we reposted a TikTok originally created by @aavoid.official, which got over 7 million views, 1 million likes and 20k comments that had our community in stitches. The video in question shows the skater dressed, loosely, as Ice Spice, while roller skating up and down a ramp to the sound of Munch (Feelin’ U).
Celebrity impersonations have been happening since celebrities started to become a thing – think of Tommy Cash who dressed up as Anna Wintour last fashion week or @hayleyybaylee who dressed up as Doja Cat in her Fashion Week full red studded look to roam the streets of New York. With Ice Spice recently rising to fame, it was just a matter of time before someone trolled us with an orange wig.

While we can clearly tell who @aavoid.official was trying to imitate, we can’t say it was a picture perfect replica. @kay_bandzzz4 said “Walmart Ice Spice” and @southparkgirl4 drew the comparison to “Ronald McDonald”. It has to be the cheap wig, right? @d1.liam_l_10 was also focused on the wig, saying why “does ice spice kinda look like marge from the simpsons”. Different colour and shape but we get your point, Liam.

If Gen Z knows how to do one thing on TikTok it’s making names up for “Walmart” versions of things, which was basically 90% of our comment section. @synchronized_ commented “That’s not ice spice that’s cold seasoning”, @trampijebuhh called her “water spice”, @sus_siyaslays145 said “fire sugar”. We can’t get enough of these and honestly neither could you, because there’s more.
“Vapour chilli” was the name proposed by @joshua.stefano and @i_l0ve_heartst0pper said “cold pepper”. You get the picture. Apart from the amusing name comments, some of you were actually laughing at @aavoid.official’s antics, with @l1lyana.5kkz commenting, “WHY DID HE FALL LIKE THATTT”, capitalised for dramatic purposes, of course.

Name jokes aside, there is truth to the saying “imitation is the best form of flattery”, even in the form of a cheap-wigged roller skater doing mediocre tricks before falling down the ramp, right?
