CLOT celebrated 20 years with a collab heavy display that embodied the Hong Kong-based streetwear brand’s unique fusion of East and West. Taking place on the final day of Shanghai Fashion Week SS24, Edison Chen’s label proved once again why it’s a highlight of the schedule, leaving attendees and fans of the brand with plenty to talk about.

CLOT has been a master of collaboration since its inception, behind sought-after link-ups with global brands such as Nike (with the first Air Max 1 x CLOT released in 2006) and Dr. Martens. SS24 was no different and saw collaboration used to further the brand’s East Meets West vision, seen in co-branded designs with Chinese brands San Kuanz, STAFFONLY, CAROLINE HU and PRONOUNCE

STAFFONLY brought patterned tailoring in off-white hues, which saw models carry padded bags by their side, with printed black baseball caps and boots breaking up the all-white palette.

Since being the first Chinese designer to show at Pitti Uomo in 2019, PRONOUNCE has gone from strength to strength. For its collaboration with CLOT, we saw the Shangai-Milan label show dyed white jackets in a cobalt blue hue, complete with 3D embroidered shapes, combining the sharp edges of a square with smooth and symmetrical circles which protruded from sleeves.

Global collaborators included NEIGHBORHOOD, which, with its legendary status amongst Japanese streetwear, felt at home amongst Chen’s SS24 offering. The two label’s co-branded designs saw oversized white football jerseys with purple branding paired with iridescent grey trousers, which shimmered with movement.

The North Face brought some outdoor-infused practicality to the occasion, seen in colour-blocked fleece sets, which nodded to the San Francisco brand’s vintage colour-blocked heyday. Models carried duffle bags comprising neon pink, teal and purple detailing. Faded two-tone mittens were worn with black outerwear, further accented with pink piping.

LUU DAN brought the moto vibes, crafting a leather set that saw relaxed pants paired with a racing jacket with sponsor-style branding in a striking black and yellow combination. Tommy Hilfiger and CLOT’s offering saw a preppy-infused layered look grace the runway, with models wearing varsity jackets with accented with red and blue striped detailing, complete with matching shorts. A black baseball cap shielded its wearer’s face in a look that was more hungover from the night before than bright-eyed and bushy-tailed for your 9 a.m. seminar.

CLOT x sacai was sleek, sexy and black, pairing ruched mini skirts with short-sleeved suede bomber jackets and black-out caps. Mini handbags were complete with silver hardware to match the zipper on the jacket. 1017 ALYX 9SM continued the utilitarianism with a CLOT x 1017 ALYX 9SM bomber jacket with collaborative branding on the back.

Alongside a solid clothing offering, Chen used the collaborative display to reveal a Three Stripes partnership after a strong run with Nike. A deconstructed adidas Superstar peaked from beneath relaxed fit rousers, with the basketball-inspired sneaker atop a lugged soul, pairing white and muted shades of brown for gentle contrast.

Everyone loves a collab, and CLOT gets it. Edison Chen’s CLOT SS24 offering was a co-branded celebration of everything the brand does well for its 20th anniversary, and we’re here for it.
