Put away your flats, this Autumn is all about the boots. From viral TikTok trending platforms, to the array of amazing footwear we’ve seen heading down the runway during fashion month, we’ve rounded up the boots you can’t miss.
NAKED WOLFE
Seen on everyone from Rosalía to Bretman Rock, these Naked Wolfe ‘SPICE’ boots are taking over the internet. Their hashtag on TikTok has 65.8 million views at the time of writing, indicative of the demand for these celebrity-loved boots.
They have the classic 90s silhouette: think Bratz doll style, heavily platformed, and with a thick, high heel. These are made in-label, and boast a vegan-friendly leather substitute for the main body of the boot, featuring the brand’s logo in metalwork on the back. Sitting just below the knee in a skin-hugging material, style these with a miniskirt and blazer, or wide jeans for the colder days.

GIVENCHY
Fresh off the runway, Givenchy SS22 gave us a new boot silhouette at Paris Fashion Week. Going well above the knee, the boots are skin-tight and platformed, with a rounded toe and middle split-seam. With each look came a different style: coming in vibrant green suede, lilac ‘leather’ and classic matte black to name a few. Other boot-based highlights included a white ankle boot with silver zip detailing, and all are unisex.

BOTTEGA VENETA
Bottega boots have quickly become fashion-favourites, even trending in music throughout this last year. With the wet weather closing in, their puddle boots are becoming increasingly appealing, and have been updated this Autumn.
Featuring a rounded shape and made from rubber, the puddle boots are Wellies, but make it fashion. This season, they’ve added a lamb-shearling lining to keep you even cozier throughout Autumn and Winter as well as dry!

STELLA MCCARTNEY
If ever there was a boot that rejected pandemic-dressing and celebrated the return to normal (night) life, it’s these. McCartney has created a thigh-high turquoise glitter platform boot, aptly titled ‘Groove’. Although they will set you back £950, their sculptural silhouette and knit material covers the both the slanted toe and block heel, giving a cohesive look ready for the party season ahead (or just a trip to the shops).

PRADA
A cult-classic, Prada are known for their chunky, cleated sole boots that have become somewhat of a wardrobe staple for Autumn. Coming in classic, or opting for an updated style such as last year’s addition of a removable pouch, these pair well with every outfit for an instant height and serotonin boost. You can even vary the height: ankle boots for the early Autumn, and take them higher as we get into the depths of Winter.

ACNE STUDIOS
Acne’s creative director, Jonny Johansson, recently noted that “Fashion has become almost as important as religion, which is different from when I grew up, when music was the most important religion.” Interested in how to target Gen-Z customers and their devotion to fashion, Johansson presented leather platform shoes on the runway in Paris for SS22.
Leaning into, and going beyond the ‘chunky shoe’ trend, these shoes prioritise style but aren’t as paralysing as the stiletto heels normally found on high-fashion catwalks. To understand post-COVID dressing, start with the feet.
