When Beyoncé said “the crowd gon’ move” she meant it. Whatever she touches turns to money – and her latest venture, the “RENAISSANCE” tour film, is no different. After two star-studded premieres in LA and London, the film has opened to the public and kicked up a chrome-hued fuss.
Despite this period being historically limiting for film releases (post-Thanksgiving), “RENAISSANCE” has come within the top tour film opening weekends of all time – trailing Taylor Swift’s version earlier this year, who also came through to show her support for Bey at the London premiere.
Considering she wrote, directed, produced, and lived the film, we’re convinced that Bey’s 50% profit share is more than reasonable – and AMC theatres revealed that it’s the first time in 20 years that a film released in this time period has opened to more than £20 million.
Detailing everything from the tour set up to delving into Blue Ivy’s breakout stardom, we can’t think of a better way to spend a couple of hours than reliving the tour of the year. Can you?
