This week, we linked up with Jaguar in Miami to get a look at its new show, “Copy Nothing”: a deep dive into its rebrand and a first look at the Jaguar Type 00 in the flesh. On top of Ib Kamara and Skepta hitting up the opening - and Big Smoke even performing live - Jaguar also linked up with a bunch of the most GOATed artists out there rn to channel the creativity that their rebrand is all about.
Tapping four of the art world’s biggest talents, Jaguar used artist collaborations in “Copy Nothing” to project its key design principles: delete ordinary, copy nothing, and live vivid. Championing British artists, Campbell Addy, Ibby Njoya, Yagamoto and Patience Harding all worked on the project, each bringing their own strengths to the table.
Jaguar linked up with artist, photographer, and director Campbell Addy for his legendary storytelling, seen in link ups with Tyler, the Creator; artist and set spatial designer Ibby Njoya for his bright, bold colour palette; movement director Yagamoto to work on the project’s fluidity; and set designer and Creative Director Patience Harding who used space design to channel Jaguar’s new vibe.
The car itself really does “copy nothing,” given it’s designed using some rogue materials, including brass, travertine stone, and textiles, which all play a part in entering this new era of technology and design. Wondering why brass? Because it’s used in art, and the Type 00 is art. Working with one of the biggest creative teams in the world, every detail of the Jaguar Type 00 was thought through.
You know Jaguar’s rebrand goes hard when it links up with four of the most GOATed creatives out there and has Big Smoke DJ at the exhibition opening.
