The streetwear brand made in Italy, born in London Aries is collaborating with the seltzer company White Claw in a celebration of the skate and surf cultures found in the South of France, specifically the coastal town of Biarritz, for a limited-edition capsule collection.

The campaign, which sees Biarritz’s youth wearing the collaborative pieces about to dive into the water and relaxing on the sand, was shot by photographer David Ledoux. Captured in a series of black & white and coloured film through long exposure, the candid photographs are typical of Ledoux’s own aesthetic, who started his career as a photojournalist, learning how to capture his subject in “a state of invisibility”.

The black & white imagery is in reference to one of Ledoux’s wider projects called “Gnarly”, made with stylist Phoebe Arnold. “Gnarly” was also shot in Biarritz, Ledoux’s now home, in which the two shot pictures of the town’s local surf and skate scene. Honouring this work, Aries will be exhibiting the photographs in its Soho Store until June 5.

The Aries x White Claw collection itself features 4 pieces, featuring 2 crewnecks, a t-shirt and a pair of shorts. Found in black and white colours, each piece features shibori-style rings, in line with Aries’ own emblematic tie-dye aesthetic. Each piece also features co-branding, with the shorts featuring it on its leg while the tops on their sleeves, with 2 pieces sporting Ledoux’s images on their front.
Priced between £65 and £120, the Aries x White Claw collaboration is now available online and in Aries’ flagship store, alongside the “Gnarly” exhibition.
