Did you know Jacquemus’ lavender fields, Off-White’s silver sphere, and Gucci’s conversation pits all have one thing in common? They were designed by Alexandre de Betak, the founder of Bureau Betak.
Having produced and designed over 900 fashion shows, exhibitions, and events in his career, Alexandre de Betak describes his approach to runway design as “very fast, very compact, very energetic and very minimal.”
But it doesn’t stop at Gucci, Off-White, and Jacquemus; de Batak is behind some of the sickest show sets to date. In 2022, he worked with Saint Laurent to design a massive monolithic ring that filled a Moroccan desert show space as models donned sharply tailored looks as part of the show.
For Acne Studios’ FW24 presentation, the French designer turned tyres into traction-grabbing armchairs as part of the textured play with proportion complementing structured looks in the attitude-filled collection.
Below are some of Alexandre de Betak’s most viral runways from the past few years.
