Birkenstock channels the Northern history of corduroy
Birkenstock has given a range of its most popular styles a hard-wearing corduroy revamp, nodding to the Mancunian roots of the materials. Originally favoured by factory workers in the 19th century, it was the go-to fabric during the height of the industrial revolution thanks to its hard-wearing appeal. To launch Birkenstock’s latest campaign, corduroy iterations of the Arizona, Boston, Kyoto, and Bend silhouettes are shot against an industrial backdrop, with the colourful, durable styles offering a playful pop of colour. Head to Birkenstock.com to shop the collection.
Issey Miyake launches RHYTHYM CHECK series for FW23
Issey Miyake is introducing the RHYTHM CHECK series, inspired by the moving rhythm of a checkered pattern. The soft and three-dimensional look is the product of intentional shrinkage. Shrinking yarn is woven into the fabric in a grid pattern before being processed in high-temperature water, which results in a unique shrunken texture. The outcome is a series of textured and three-dimensional garments, arriving in a selection of muted orange and red hues alongside a standout green hue used across mini-dresses, shorts, cardigans and trousers. The Issey Miyake Rhythm collection is available to shop in-store and online now.
