New Balance has been doing the most over the past two years, consistently pushing out killer collaborations and experimental pieces from their “Tokyo Design Studio” arm under the direction of Joe Grondin. The Boston label hasn’t slowed down one bit in 2021, with Salehe Bembury swinging hard and some flavorful products set to release in the coming months.

While collaboration is dominating the sneaker scene right now, New Balance continues to produce incredible in-line releases featuring unique design choices – enter the 2002R “Protection Pack”. Atop an ABZORB midsole and an N-ergy outsole sits a deconstructed 2002R upper, featuring jagged, roughly-cut suede panelling which extends over seams and flaps loose, with exposed foam on the tongue only furthers the look.

Three colorways are being released: “Rain Cloud”, “Phantom” and “Sea Salt” at $180 apiece. While an official release date has yet to be announced we can expect to see these hit shelves at select retailers like asphaltgold very soon.
