It’s CULTED with your morning NEWSRUSH for Wednesday 23 September.
First up, yesterday Kerby Jean-Raymond and Pyer Moss announced a new social justice platform called Exist To Resist. It will see exclusive drops released with all proceeds going to organisations that support community programmes in the US. The first drop is a ‘Vote or Die… For Real’ T-shirt which highlights the non-profit organisation Rock The Vote.
In similar news, Charli XCX has donated $50,000 to the LA Alliance For Human Rights, a charity that advocates for the protection and shelter of the Los Angeles’ homeless population. Charli donated all profits from her new album merch, held an artwork auction, as well as a livestream with Boiler Room to raise the money.
In other news, Sotheby’s is auctioning off some of the rarest Nike sneakers of all time. The ‘Cult Canvas’ auction consists of 8 artist-designed shoes from the likes of Futura and Jeff Staples. The auction is running from now until Tuesday 29 September.
To round off this morning’s updates, Blackpink’s Lisa has become Celine’s Global Ambassador. The K-pop star will be the first brand ambassador since Hedi Slimane took over in 2018.
