Trapstar has been killing the streetwear, with drops and activations that ensue an unprecedented level of craze. In part thanks to their standout offering that pushes the limits of contemporary streetwear and in part thanks to its tight-knit community that always comes first, Trapstar’s rise is meteoric and will continue to reach stratospheric heights with this special film it’s launching for FW23.
First and foremost, the film is an ode to Trapstar’s community. It’s a step up in the streetwear brand‘s game which is pushing for a storytelling-driven project that places its hustling members centre stage. The hustle clearly pays off, with the jaw-dropping scenes of high-speed motorcycle chases, helicopter takeovers and jetski driving that showcase the ultimate dream.
The feature film is as inspiring as it is empowering with narration done by the London legend and ex-gangster David Courtney OBE reminding us that our past doesn’t define our present or future. It doesn’t end there though, with Trapstar’s extensive list of exciting creatives such as UK rapper Bandokay OFB, fashion icon Dagye and new-gen artist LEN as well as the founding trio Mikey, Will and Lee all spotted wearing the new FW23 collection.
The collection features an array of pieces that defy notions of what we define streetwear by. Hero pieces include some freshly designed puffer jackets, a key piece that led to Trapstar’s current status, and a grailed varsity jacket with leather-treated sleeves and hardwear custom detailing on the zips, both featuring the signature ‘T’ logo.
On top of its FW23 collection that pushes the boundaries of design, the feature also filmed an upcoming collection with Avirex, the New York-based luxury outerwear brand. This collaboration merges East Coast and London street aesthetics in what can only be described as the trans-Atlantic collab of the year.
Keep an eye out on Trapstar’s website to cop the FW23 pieces before they sell out – which will happen at light speed.
