In the lead up to the holidays things always feel kind of hectic, but this week was even more jam-packed than we’d anticipated. Whilst the weather finally hit the temperature below freezing point that it’s meant to be in December, the icy temperatures hardly stopped the craziness of life from hurtling on. We were treated to a tonne of drops, pop-ups, and even a Celine show yesterday to top it all off. Here’s the full down; we’ve spared no details.
CELINE SAYS DIAMONDS CAN BE EVERYONE’S BEST FRIEND
Somehow this managed to slip under many of our radars, but yes – in case you missed it – Celine did host their Women’s FW23 show yesterday. Held at the Wiltern Theatre in LA, the show was a breathtaking spectacle featuring glossy silk and sparkling gowns, showcased in front of the backdrop of a diamond chandelier. Party season has officially been ushered in by Celine, and it’s dripping in sequins.

TRAVIS BARKER X CLOCKS + COLOURS
Travis Barker’s taking on a new artistic direction that’s outside of both music and dating a Kardashian, becoming the creative director of Canadian accessories brand, Clocks + Colours. His first collection, which was released yesterday, seamlessly intertwines his and the brand’s punk rock roots with contemporary fashion. Uniting for the next two years, we’re excited to see more from them.

UPCYCLE OLD INTO NEW WITH BARACUTA X OUR LEGACY
Baracuta announced their last collaborative project of AW22 (sad face), an up-cycled collection with Swedish brand, Our Legacy. The designs were produced from old Baracuta garments which otherwise would’ve gone to waste, featuring an array of embroidered jackets and even homeware pieces. The collection’s limited, as its made from up-cycled residual fabrics, so you’d better run, not walk.

LOOK TO DUBAI FOR CLAUDETTE’S POPUP AT SOUL DXB

GO WITH THE FLOW WITH NOTWOWAYS “FLOE”
Notwoways latest drop reimagines their signature sneaker silhouette in an icey-blue colourway perfect for the dropping temperatures. The brand’s winterised palette pairs naturally with clean white laces and luxurious suede detailing, all inspired by the shoe’s namesake “Floe”, meaning a sheet of floating ice.

ASICS CRAFTS FOR MIND
Asics makes over their Gel-Nimbus 9 sneakers in fiery red and cool silver colourways, in a collaboration with Paris-based designer, Florence Tétier. The brand’s Crafts for Mind program is an ongoing anthology which gives different designers access to elevate and personify their iconic silhouettes. Dropping next Wednesday at auction, it’ll be tough to get your hands on a pair.

GORILLAZ TAKES OVER NEW YORK & LONDON
The last time we saw a giant ape on the side of a building in New York it was King Kong. This time it’s Gorillaz. For their latest track “Skinny Ape”, the band’s planning to transform Times Square, NY and Piccadilly Circus, London into massive immersive experiences, blowing up their trademark characters – Murdoc, 2D, Noodle and Russel – on huge screens for fans to dance along with.

GENTLE MONSTER “BOLD” COLLECTION
Gentlemonster’s first collection in their new BOLD anthology takes the stars out the sky and makes them wearable. Titled ‘Galaxy of 9 Evenings’, star-studded accessories make up this first drop which will be followed on throughout 2023 by other BOLD collections. As the first of many, we’re eager to see what’s next.
