When Robert Wun posted a teaser for the show last week, one of the comments said, “I’ll give you a kidney just for an opportunity to be at your show,” and, after watching the latest FW25 show, maybe they should’ve.
Titled “Becoming,” this collection’s about the act of dressing for canon events in your life and making that into a storyline. From trying out a new hairstyle for the occasion like the hair-like headpieces that’s on several looks to having a smoke before you go into the event to even taking off the outfit after the event with a detached floral dress being one of the closing looks.
It’s no surprise that his pattern cutting and silhouettes are next level, with beautifully clean and voluptuous cuts that add all the drama that we know and love from Wun. The extra arms in some of the looks just added to the allure and fantasy that he does best, along with the most beautiful hats that give every look an extra edge and sass.
“Becoming” is an homage to the clothes you wear for those unforgettable moments in life, where the collection ‘becomes’ the actions before, during and after these occasions. Wun’s cherishing and romanticising every second and bringing these emotions to life. He really keeps getting better.
