Former Celine creative director Phoebe Philo has just announced her return to fashion after a three year break. The ‘break’ wasn’t much of a break as the designer was working on her eponymous brand in her London studio.
LVMH is set to back Philo’s latest venture, allowing the designer to direct her comeback on her own terms. Speaking on the partnership, Philo stated “I have had a very constructive and creative working relationship with LVMH for many years. So, it is a natural progression for us to reconnect on this new project”.
While not much has been revealed about the Philo brand, the garments are said to be “exceptional quality and design”, no surprise coming from one of the most influential 21st century female designers. Her 10-year stint at Celine was revolutionary for the brand, now referred to as “Old Celine” by Philo fanatics. Whatever venture she’s now going into, we’ll be keeping an eye out for her, excited to see what she brings to the table.
