In the span of literally a couple minutes, Carven announced its Creative Director Louise Trotter would be leaving, Matthieu Blazy revealed he was leaving Bottega Veneta, and then Bottega Veneta announced Louise Trotter would be taking over from Matthieu Blazy. It’s crazy fr.
Rumours have been circulating for weeks about Matthieu Blazy jumping ship from Bottega, and as much as we did not want to believe that, it’s now confirmed. Although we’ll all be sad to see Blazy go, Louise Trotter, who has been at Carven since February 2023 and was previously at Lacoste and Joseph, we’re hoping Trotter will bring a fresh perspective to the house and take it in an exciting new direction.
The game of CD musical chairs might be over for Louise Trotter, but Matthieu Blazy is still stood up. So where do we think he’ll take a seat next? Our money’s on Chanel, but given John Galliano just left Maison Margiela this week, it could go either way. Wdyt?
