Maison Margiela and Reebok have paired up yet again to create a collaborative shoe. This time, the two brands turned to Reebok’s signature Club C silhouette for inspiration.
Just months after Reebok and Margiela came together to create a split-toe Tabi sneaker, the two have now re-invented a shoe that features an optical illusion. The upper, which is made out of a single flat piece of leather, is finished with a superimposed scanned image of the original Club C shoe. By doing this, the upper seems to feature intricate details, from every stitch to curve, despite its relatively simple construction.
The sneaker, available in black or white, also features a co-branded tongue, with Margiela’s and Reebok’s vector logo visible, just like on their previous collaboration. The Reebok name logo can also be seen on the lateral side.
The sneaker is set to release March 24 on both Reebok’s and Margiela’s websites as well as select Maison Margiela stores for $300.
