LVMH has opened applications for its 2020 prize for young designers.
The award is one of the most prestigious contests in the world of emerging designers.
We’d love to talk you through a few designers we’d love to see win this year.
Designer Mowalola Ogunlesi has taken the industry by storm since her debut in 2017.
Her signature hand-painted leather and seductive designs are loved by the likes of Naomi Campbell, who wore her infamous white bullet dress – signifying how “time after time” black people are seen as a “walking target”.
Next up, designer Gareth Wrighton, whose designs reflect his obsession with “pop, rock and violence”, defining his brand as a “takedown of the contemporary fast fashion”.
As Wrighton’s graphic knitwear is designed to last and be a clear alternative to consumption.
And last, designer Supriya Lele, who is known for her sheer dresses, which combine influences from her Indian heritage, with contemporary touches, in a way we’ve never seen before.
So guys, do you have any designers who you think deserve the 2020 LVMH prize?
