The Maison Margiela Sprinters are the new it-shoe… and they’re out now

We’ve been seeing these Maison Margiela Sprinters circling around in recent months but they’ve been pretty hard to get - that’s until now because it seems like it’s gotten a wider release.

Inspired by Nike Moon Shoes from 1972, the slick trainers have that low-profile silhouette that’s been popularised by its bigger brother, the Margiela GAT, amongst others like the Adidas Samba, Dries Van Noten Suede Sneakers and the Puma Speedcats with the vintage, sportswear aesthetic. These Sprinters might be taking the low-profile agenda another step further, with practically no midsole and only a studded gum outsole sitting between your feet and the floor. The upper is constructed from Drill - a type of cotton fabric - with hits of calfskin and hairy suede atop it. Don’t worry, the four stitch flex is at the back of the heel tab so you’ll get to stunt on everyone in case they didn’t know these were Maison Margiela.

They come in some fun colours, too, with a Kiwi pair that’s perfect for the brighter months, a more neutral Lemon colourway and the trusty black, beige and white iterations for everyday versatility.

They’re available now on the Maison Margiela site and in store - go cop the shoe of the summer.
