The “hustle culture” mindset dominating creative industries right now might keep us grinding, pushing us to always be better and do more – but we also need to remember: burnout is real. With social media making our ability to clock out and switch off basically nonexistent, more of us are experiencing burnout on a regular basis.
For creatives, burnout is a brick wall to creativity. We see a lot of motivational posts on this app about “staying on the grind”, but you should also take time to let your mind rest. With burnout at an all time high, affecting over 40% of working people around the world, and disproportionately more in creative industries, it’s important to take those necessary steps back from your work that keep us grounded.
We’re facing a burnout epidemic, and creatives are suffering hardest, so take time to clock off and reset. No one can grind all day everyday.
